Contracts and small print

Charter rates
Our published bareboat charter rates include the dinghy. Outboard, bed sheets and final cleaning are not included for most destinations. They are included for Greece. We decided to offer a standard package with final cleaning, bed sheets and outboard at the price of 210 euros. The skipper rates vary depending on the skipper and the destination. The average price is 980 euros a week. Your cruise can be improved with many other optional services, like the hostess for example, so do not hesitate to ask your SailSafe consultant.
The price of crewed yachts always include the skipper and the hoestess. It is sometimes possible to have a discount and use only the services of the skipper. Luxury and crewed yachts prices are intended 'plus all expenses'. These come in the form of harbour fees, diesel consumption, grocery fees and wine costs. All inclusive rates are available upon request.
We remind our guests that crewed and luxury charter does not require check in and outs or safety deposits.

Booking a yacht
If you would like to confirm a booking for a yacht, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can request an 'option' for up to five days. Until that time the yacht(s) remains available for charter requests to other clients and agencies.
When you decide to confirm your booking, we will send you the charter contract that requires a 50% deposit to validate the papers. The balance is due one calendar month before the start of the charter.
SailingTheWeb accepts any form of payment, from pay-pal to money transfers to Credit Cards, but we underline that the use of Credit Cards and Paypal will unfurtunately incur in a 3,4% additional fee. Once we receive the money we pass it to the charter company or the boat owner. It is therefore a question of trust between us and the charter company. This is why it is important to know them well. And we do. We act as a filter and insure the necessary smoothness. Moreover we provide cancellation policies to be sure no damage will occur to our clients.
Insurance
Let's face it, stuff happens. If something does go wrong, wouldn't it be nice to have someone in your corner? We literally book thousands of charters and because of this volume, we can normally reach a satisfactory solution more easily than you can as an individual. While we hope you won't need it, this additional security can save you a lot of time, money and frustration.

Contracts
Contracts come in any shape and form, because the law follows the flag. We manage and translate contracts in most languages but we warn our guests that only the copy written in the official language of the country is the valid one. Thet's when we step in troubleshooting.

Other documents
Then the following documents will be essential:
- Crew list: to save time upon embarcation, it's better to do the paperwork at home. Every passenger must be properly registered and a correct crew list requires the data and the document numbers of all passengers.
- Skipper data and permits: in case of bareboat rentals, these are essentials. No charter company in the Med charters vessels to sailors without a licence, that is not compulsory in many countries. Sometime, a brief description of your sailing experience is required;
- Preference list: in order to provide the best service, our crews would like to know as much as possible about you tastes, preferences, and desires, and last but not least your allergies and do not!
- Embarcation voucher: contains all the data you need to reach, find and contact your crew or base. We also underline transfer data, flights arrival and numbers, maps, payment details and all what is necessary to make you embarcation fast and straightforward.
You'll then need hotel reservations, provisioning options, customs and passport requirements, itineraries, airline tickets, etc... We can recommend and handle all of this for you and because of our volume discounts, can probably save you money by bundling your airfare with your charter.

Check-in
We strongly recommend to be very careful during the check-in, first of all because your vacation will dependo on that boat and it's better to leave with all in the right place, secondly because the owner of the boat will be very careful during the check out. Pay particular attention to:
- condition of the sails;
- engine functional state and hours;
- electronics, pay attention to the functionality of plotter and GPS and pay attention to the memory cards;
- anchor windlass;
- lines, shore lines and second anchors;
- dinghy and outboard;
- compulsory safety equipment;
- winch handles;
- toilets.
