Our comments
We really appreciated the new Jeanneau 53 during out test.
The cockpit is raised and widened, and this means more protection to the elements and bad weather (in summer we try to avoid), and more room for two aft cabins where you can sleep in both directions, so even with head towards the stern, without suffering from claustrophobia as in the old tomb. If they had also moved the sconces for light would be perfect, but the devil, you know, is in the details. Cosmetically very good especially for those who can not stand the sight of the taps in constant close-up, and very practical since that space was always under-utilized. The engine does not suffer unduly in accessibility. Very nice dining area, kitchen corner, as is appropriate. It's not a boat you would take to Iceland, of course, but it borders perfection in the Mediterranean.
